Script# talk tonight in london

Published by gojko under presentations

This might be a bit on a short notice, but I’m doing a talk tonight on script# at skills matter. script# converts c# code into javascript and is sort of a .net response to the google web toolkit. If this sounds
interesting and you are in london, pop by skills matter offices at 6:30 tonight.

There might be still time to register if you want to come down (registration is free, but mandatory for capacity planning).

Agile Acceptance Testing: Video

Published by gojko under fitnesse,presentations

Here is the video from my talk on Agile Acceptance Testing this week at Skills Matter. The talk is completely non-technical, focusing on how this practice helps us communicate better and explaining how it fits into the wider development process. You can download the slides from here.

I have presented this talk to a lot of companies over the last year and it is the basis for my upcoming book Agile Acceptance Testing: Closing the communication gap in software projects. If this sounds interesting, subscribe to my rss feed to get notified when the book comes out.

Fitting agile acceptance testing into the development process

Published by gojko under articles

The idea of the example-writing workshop to support acceptance testing seems to cause a lot of confusion and misunderstanding, at least judging from my two most recent talks and the questions during the discussion at the second Alt.NET UK conference. A lot of people seem to somehow contrast that to iterative development and mistake the workshop for big design up-front, expecting that it will increase the feedback loop. To resolve the misunderstanding, here is an example of how the workshop (and acceptance testing) fits into an agile process to shorten the feedback loop and improve iterative development. Alt.NET UK Summer conference

Published by gojko under news

The second Alt.Net UK open conference took place on Saturday in London, with about 100 people attending and 16 sessions. The event, at least for me, felt much more like an informal get-together then a software conference which was a great thing. All the sessions were organised as discussions, not presentations, with people just exchanging ideas and experiences. Continue Reading »

Agile Acceptance Testing talk next Thursday in London

Published by gojko under news,presentations

I’m doing a talk on agile acceptance testing next Thursday in London. The talk will be completely non-technical and focused on communication benefits and building a common understanding driven by realistic examples and acceptance tests. It is primarily aimed at non-programmers (managers, testers, business analysts etc) to motivate them to participate and explain how their roles change in agile processes and especially with agile acceptance testing. If you are trying to introduce agile acceptance testing in your organisation, send your manager/business people/testers to the talk. Participation is free, but up-front registration is required for capacity planning. For more information and to register, see http://skillsmatter.com/podcast/home/agile-acceptance-testing.

See you there!
